Proposal

R-in mine and Everest's short film we are going to try and represent what we believe is the stereotypical teenage life. this is through the two male protagonists, there actions, attitudes and the events and experiences that take place. the two male character share the similar lives and have very similar views yet one has a very different attitude towards what his peers think and this will be a representation on how your peers can influence you in good and bad ways.

I-this is a point that we am very clear on how i want to represent to the public the very realist experiences and events that occur in a large majority of teenagers while they are growing up in society today. we believe we can point this across very clear because myself and my production partner, Everest have had similar experiences and have been involved in similar situations.

V- the attraction of this film will be because of its very realistic view portrayed through the actors and the story line. also there will be very few shot that involved specialist camera work as we believe there is no need to dramatise the storyline as it a realist film and we want to show this to the audience. the characters will be played by a selection of students that me and Everest know.

A-the target audience will be of an age of over the age of 15/16 this is a result of the issues that will be showed throughout the film and how the characters act upon this. the main target audience will be of a similar age to the characters (late teens). this is because it is more likely to attract an audience that can relate to the character and the storyline.

L-the style of the actor body language will help the audience engage and understand the actions, thoughts and mind sets of the characters and their feeling upon different values from each other. this is where the main editing and camera work has been used. for example there is likely to be a scene where one of the characters consumes drugs/alcohol to demonstrate his mind as a state of disarray it likely we are going to use a combination of quick spiraling shots.

I-ideology is the aspirations of the audience and the institution in terms of moral issues that are present. therefore what ever my encoded message is to the audience they have to decode in the way i intended the message to be perceived. as a result of this if my directing is poor the audience will not receive the intended message and it will be lost. therefore i have based the way the media is going to receive the message upon the reception theory whereby i, the producer encodes the message thought the medium of text and the audience decode it. even though are film is going to be presented in a conventional film format it will have a lot of issues that is more of a documentary style production due to to realisation of the narrative. we want to show this and not glamorise the issues which will be present.

N-me and Everest have decided to include two protagonists in the film instead of one, this is to give the audience a real insight into what can happen in two contrasting decisions. the two characters are very good mates and have a similar out look on life. the issue begins when they both attend a house party with a group of school mates. they are both popular with the crowd yet one of them is more eager to impress the group of mates by accepting their offer to try drugs yet the other one is no so concerned. the character who consumes these drugs changes his attitude on live and what he believed in yet the other character continues with his ambitions and succeeds at school. with time passed by the pair grow further apart and lose contact until one day many years later they coincidentally meet. the character who has been successful others a hand his old best friend who by now a addicted drug abuser and has little live.
(we need develop why one of the characters is so eager to impress his peers by taking the drugs and the other is not making them different)

G-the genre of this film i would consider to be of a teen drama because of who it represents and the issues that are present throughout this film. also we plan to follow Todorov narrative theory of having an equilibrium, disequilibrium and new equilibrium.
